Ok, Enough with this shit!

Listen,

You know who else are really nice guys, good dinner companions and apparently kind to small animals? Men Who Date Rape.

Men who don't hear/listen/acknowledge/respect NO and who force themselves on women (and other men), causing internal bruising, tearing, psychological trauma, feelings of doubtful self worth, anger, pain, sometimes STD's and/or pregnancy and more.

Their friends say they're nice guys too. Their friends defend them too. Their friends say "But he's nice to me." Their friends are often also other males.

Non Ally White Women - Are you even listening to yourselves when you pull this shit? When you start giving these excuses and explanations you've heard before - used against yourself?

Is this how you unite for social justice?

Do you really think you're being upright and moral when you publically call an individual (Sh~tt~ly) a dick, but then go on to say - But he's my friend and has other lovely qualities?

1. Actions Are More Important Than Social Credit.

2. Words ARE Actions.

I own up that that I fantasize harm or reality undoing on some racists. Can you own up that you wish to excuse them because of how you feel their actions reflect on you?

I have only two more words for you. Kyle Payne.

  1. Amen, yo. A-freakin'-men.

People can be normally nice and then do something terrible. If nobody calls them on the terrible and just goes, "But they're niiiiice!" then THEY WILL KEEP BEING TERRIBLE.

(This is, of course, assuming a model where the terrible-acting would be interested in changing in the first place and are not just terrible people pretending. I try to keep my rose-colored specs duct-taped on.)

  2. Very well said. Those who excuse these "nice guys'" behavior are essentially saying, "I know he treats you bad, but he treats me nice, and that's more important."

  3. Yes. Yes to all of this.

I cannot believe that there are adults who still use "but he's nice to me!" as a defense when their friend/family member/loved one shits all over someone else.

I also can't believe that the "Internet Dickhead Syndrome" defense is being played here, either. It's such bullshit. People do not magically become racist asshats when they're on the internet, and magically revert to kind-hearted allies in real life. The only real difference is that they *say what they really think* on the internet. That means that they still hold racist, asinine beliefs in real life. They're just too cowardly to spout them directly to another person's face.

  4. damn good point. serial killers ten to be described as "nice guys" by the people they presented as "nice" to, as well.

  5. This is my first time hearing about Kyle Payne, but it's NOT my first time hearing about public crusaders for causes that they themselves inevitably betray in private.

Indeed, in my old age, I'm starting to believe that hypocrisy is perhaps an inalienably ingrained trait that's essential to all of humanity, to the point that we would literally die if we stayed true to our beliefs.

Which is one of the reasons why I often go out of my way to be a spiteful, hateful, evil fucker who disbelieves eveything, because if I wind up betraying THAT - which I stand an excellent change of doing, because I'm human and therefore weak - then I'll actually wind up being a semi-decent person who does reasonably good things.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, but if you do it right, you can trick the universe, and your own human nature, into doing what you want, by actually trying to do the opposite, because the universe is a spieful piece of shit that exists to try and deny your goals, so like pulling back on a slingshot, you can use the universe's natural resistance to your force to shoot you in the direction that you want.

  6. Kirk:

That's a set of magical thinking I'm not sure I buy into - at least not when I'm sober of cynicism.

Then again, I've described myself recently as a spiteful, vindictive little thing, also The Goddess of Orcing! So...
