As you can see, my love of comics led me to animation and belief in drawn stories and heroics as extremely worthwhile art. It took me a while to decide to post it with those animated shows =- but that's the truth, that's part of what I like about comics; I'd have never been originally interested in something like Roughneck Chronicles if I hadn't been interested in animation - which came from a love of comics. And then ST:RC because a series I absolutely adored and had to go hunt down the original Heinlein book.
All in all though, I think I suck at memes like this. I just don't think about things in this way.

I actually liked the Roughnecks 'toon (the few episodes I managed to catch) more than I liked the book. Heinlein just does not click with me for some reason...
ReplyDeleteLurker:
ReplyDeleteHaving seen the cgi-toon before the Big Screen Movie, I was in for a huge shock when I saw both ST and the sequel. I kept going "But that's not how it happened and why are they messing it up!!"
I didn't expect to like the book, but really wanted to give it a chance since I loved th series so much and surprise surprise the book was close enough to the series (or the other way around) that I really got into it.
It was all big guns and shooting things and yet I really enjoyed it.
32 - Reluctant players in long trenchcoats
